IMATS L.A.- Official Day 1

IMATS Official Day 1 was held 25 June 2011; it was open to the public. I didn't expect for IMATs to be as crowded as it was, but it did turn out to be VERY successful. There were tons of people there and it offered another opportunity to network, socialize, and educate oneself.

I attended a few classes, lectures, and meet ups that day... and I made sure to get photos and clip of everything!! I have posted below! Enjoy! :)

IMATS L.A. PRO Event

What is IMATS?
IMATS is the International Makeup Artist Trade Show that is held 6 times a year! It was first started by Michael Key in August 1997. It is a place where education, demonstration, and new products are often. There's a makeup museum and Afterglow party- where trade-show guest can mingle and network.  It is open to the public as well as makeup pro artist and bloggers. At this event, you're able to get makeup products from various companies for a discounted price. (up to 40-50% off)
IMATS L.A. consisted of three days: Friday- Pro Event Night (Pro Card Holders and Press only), and Saturday & Sunday (open to the public).
I was given the opportunity to explore all three days, all of which I enjoyed..but man was I beat!
Below are clips and footage of the First Night- @ the Pro Event and also clips and footage from traveling, that led up to arriving to IMATS L.A.
I had the opporunity to shop and network without large crowds, as well as meet some well know makeup artist and youtube bloggers and gurus.

I am here to share my experience with you all..by breaking it down day by day, so you all can grasp what has went on that weekend! :)

NYX Sun-Kissed Bronzer #3

While I was out, doing a little shopping, I came across this NYX bronzer in Urban Outfitters. I was a bit surprised that they even carried NYX products in their store, but was NOT complaining! LOL!
As I browsed through all of the NYX products, I noticed the all over sun-kissed bronzer, which I wanted to try immediately.

The first thing I noticed about the product was the size. This bronzer contains 1.2 oz (35 g) of product for only $16.00. That is truly a STEAL!!

The next thing I noticed was the colors that were offered in this bronzer, as well as the cute artwork.

I swiped the tester and was truly amazed by the pigmentation of the product. The colors were pretty subtle and seemed buildable, yet still managed to have great pigmentation with only one swipe.
This bronzer contained four different shades in one- a medium brown that could be used for contouring and bronzing, and the other three are shades could be used for highlighting. I noticed that the bronzer came in 3 different shades.. #1 would be used for fair skin tones, #2 would be used for light to medium skin tones, & #3 would be for darker skin tones- I bought shade #3.

I love the fact that this bronzer offers three different shades of highlighters in one compact. Each highlighter could be used alone, or all of the colors can be mixed together for a beautifully combined, shimmery glow.

Pros:
  • HUGE for the price (1.2 oz of product)
  • Great affordable price (16.00)
  • Offers three different sets for different skin tones
  • Can be used all over
Cons:
  • Highlighting shades can be really shimmery- must apply lightly.

What do you think about this product so far?
