You're Looking Pretty Hot There, Surf Baby!!

Launched:
17 May 2011- PRO members
26 May 2011 U.S.
May 2011- International

[Products that I purchased]

MAC cosmetics has launched several new collections this year, which a lot of them did not interest me. I tend to feel that a lot of the collections that are launched, are just repeat items in different packaging.

When I was first told about the Surf Baby collection, as usual, I was a bit skeptical; but after seeing photos and reviews--I immediately became interested. Now, for those who love MAC, we all know that a lot of the collections, sometimes, are hit and miss--but we always seem to love the collections that are launched during Spring/Summer, at least I do. LOL! I dont know if its because I have a thing for corals and pinks, blues and purples, greens and teals... but I do know that it just seems that I am always satisfied with the Spring/Summer collections...That is why I had to get my hands on the Surf Baby Collection.

[My Paradise Cheeky Powder]

A coral blush, with a gold overspray, that can be used alone as a highlight or combined with the blush, for the perfect sparkling affect.

[Swatches of My Paradise Cheeky Powder]

L2R: Coral Blush, Gold Overspray, Coral and Gold Overspray combined

[SHORT SHORTS e/s]- Frost (Frosty Champagne)

[SURF USA e/s]- Frost (Frosted Teal)

[SWATCHES OF EYSHADOWS]

[SURF USA applied with a base- NYX black bean jumbo pencil]

[SHORT SHORTS applied with a primer- Too Faced Shadow Insurance]

My Overall Thought:
This collection was just as I expected...Various items, great packaging, get pigmentation... both the blush and eyeshadows. I honestly am in love with this collection! I believe that it was worth every cent used to purchase. I do wish that I would have purchased more of the items from the collection, along with backups for the cheeky powder. I will be placing another order as soon as most of the items are back in stock--YES, within a few days.. a few, high demand items, sold out.
A+++

EOTD: Simply TEAL

Neutral eye look tends to be the TREND now and days, especially when you're in a rush. I've come up with my own neutral eye look with a hint of color...just to give it that extra "UMPH". A neutral eye look can get boring sometimes, especially if you're one to wear it day after day... afterrrrrrr day... If you're one of those people... who are are afraid of color and will not step out of your comfort zone... try adding color this way first. Grab a colored liquid liner and get to work.. soon you'll notice that a hint of color can spruce up an eye look tremendously! :)

Wet n Wild "I got Good Jeans"

Wet 'n' Wild- I Got Good Jeans
Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio- ($2.99 for 0.12oz)

**BUDGET FRIENDLY!!**

Swatches: Gold- Metallic Finish, Blue- Soft Frost Finish, Pale Silvery w/ blue tint- Frost-Metallic Finish

This drugstore palette stands a GREAT chance against MAC, Motives, Urban Decay, and other high end brands. The texture and color pay off of the trio is beyond amazing for a drugstore brand. Its smooth, easy to apply texture, made it easy to blend, as well as to clean up the minimal fall out that even existed after application. Its colors are VERY true to pan and has a long-lasting wear time.

Pros:
  • Great Pigmentation
  • Longevity is amazing
  • Smooth, Soft Texture
  • Easy to Blend
  • Minor Fall Out
  • Great Consistency
  • Drugstore brand with inexpensive price
  • How To Instructions for beginners
Cons:
  • Packaging
My Thoughts:

I love this brand so much, that it is kind of scary. I have NEVER, and I mean Never, seen any drugstore eyeshadow as pigmented as this brand. Its cost makes it even more worth while. I have purchased the other trios and I can not wait to bring more eye looks to my viewers to promote this amazing brand and its high quality product--for a budget friendly price.

Lip Swatch: #7- Fuchsia

Swatches:  #8, #7, #10

Swatches of #5, #6, #7, #8. #9. #10

Pros:
  • Long Lasting
  • Very Pigmented
  • Multi-purpose useful
  • Bearable scent
Cons:
  • Matte- not very moisturizing- Gloss recommended
  • A bit expensive- $22.00
My Thoughts:

I have always wanted an eyeshadow, lipstick, blush, and eyeshadow base that was long lasting...basically water wouldn't even affect it's pigmentation. MUFE Aqua Cream really did impress me on how sufficient it's quality is. Although a tad bit pricey, I would recommend for high fashion photo-shoots that may take hours, or photo-shoots with water scenes. Aqua Creams are very matte and not moisturizing. The lip colors appear very vibrant. (click on picture for larger image and better color quality), when a clear gloss is added. The little pot that the cream sits in, make it easy to dip your finger or brush to scoop out the product. I am willing to give more of the Aqua Creams a go, though I will no be purchasing them all at once.

  • Richy and Creamy once on

  • Wear Time: 3-4 hours

Do I recommend for purchase?
I do like it enough to wear it now that I have purchased it... long wear time...great pigmentation..
*Would not have purchased had I been given it as a review item.*
Everyone may have a different opinion about it. I do not deny, it is a great product. I am not a big fan of left over glitter, however.

E.L.F Tinted Moisturizer

As Summer approaches, all of you who are into makeup, whether light coverage or full coverage, will have to somehow, someway, add or take away one product to suit your skin for the season change. Now, as a makeup artist, who's use to wearing medium-full coverage, pretty much everyday... I have to changed my products to suit my skin. I do know that I can not comfortably wear full coverage foundation in the summer, due to my type of skin. I have combination skin, and my makeup will melt off in the heat! LOL!

As I searched for something that would suit my skin, both dry and oily, I came across E.L.F tinted moisturizer w/ SPF 20. That's really great because I do NOT plan on wearing heavy foundation during the day, once summer approaches..unless I'm doing a makeup gig or something..
This tinted moisturizer seemed to be everything, in one, that I was looking for...= Moisture for my dry areas, SPF to protect my skin from the heat rays, tinted product to match my skin tone, light coverage...A WINNER. Although it seemed like a Winner in store, I bought it to test it out at home..
When I got home, I tested it by pairing it with a full coverage concealer, & I fell in love! By GOLLY, this seemed to be magic in a tube!! Lol! It was sooo light weight, seemed to have a great coverage, and kept my face feeling fresh! I loved it so much, I went back to my local K-MART and bought two more tubes! LOL

Pros:
  • Very Inexpensive- $3.00
  • Light Weight
  • Summer friendly
  • Window on tube to see color of product
  • Blends easily into skin
  • Great coverage for just a moisturizer
  • Great packaging
  • Doesn't have a horrible scent like some products
Cons:
  • Color variety is scarce

Do I recommend this product? YES!!!
